2026-04-01 - Introducing Schambach Owolabi_ CopSyS intern.

Dear Copsys members,

We are pleased to introduce Schambach Owolabi, who is joining Copsys for his final internship. He will be helping me (Maela Roudaut) manage the platform this month before joining Katrien Descheemaeker at the University of Wageningen. Here are the words he wanted to share with you to announce his arrival:

" My name is Schambach Owolabi, and I'm currently concluding my Master's in Urban Agriculture and Green Cities at UniLaSalle Rouen. My focus is on sustainability—especially how urban systems like food production, environmental management, and community spaces can connect more effectively.

I'm particularly drawn to systems approaches because they help show how different pieces—like agriculture, waste, and city life—are all linked. I think that kind of holistic thinking is essential for building practical, lasting solutions in cities.

Outside of my studies, I've always enjoyed exploring different fields and expanding my perspective. I've worked in hospitality, as well as on food production farms and with research institutes in Nigeria. Those experiences have shaped how I think about food systems, both hands-on and analytically.

I'm really excited to connect with people in the community—I really value learning from different experiences and swapping ideas. Looking forward to contributing."
