Assessment framework

Definition An assessment framework is a structured methodological approach used to evaluate, measure, and interpret the performance, outcomes, or impacts of a system in comparison with a reference for which indicator or with other systems. It defines the criteria, indicators, standards, and processes for systematic assessment, providing a consistent basis for comparison, decision-making, and improvement. Assessment frameworks help ensure transparency, rigor, and clarity in evaluating complex phenomena.
