MAELAB - Modeling in the service of agroecosystems and territorialized bioeconomy systems
Description
Through its tools and expertise, MAELAB supports stakeholders involved in agroecological
and bioeconomic transitions by designing and evaluating scenario-based changes aligned
with local and global objectives.
This course aim to:
- Describe the challenges and relevance of territorial approaches to guide
agroecological and bioeconomic transitions at the territorial scale.
- Use the core modules of a spatially explicit modeling platform for agricultural
territories.
- Analyze the impacts of transition scenarios using a multi-criteria approach.

Modelling the Agroecological Transition of Your Territory by MAELAB
Description
MAELAB is organizing a training course titled “Thinking and Simulating the Agroecological Transition of Your Territory with the MAELIA Platform”
🗓️ June 23–25, 📍Colmar (INRAE Center)
🎯 The objective: to enable participants to understand the challenges of a territorial approach to agroecological transition and its assessment using the MAELIA platform.
📊 By the end of the training, participants will be able to identify relevant datasets, modify input data to build scenarios, compare scenarios, interpret platform outputs, and assess relevant action levers at the territorial scale.
🌍Curretly delivered in French and in-person (Colmar, FRANCE), MAELAB is actively considering the development of English-language versions adapted to other regional and institutional contexts. They are also open to engaging in international collaborations to further scale up this type of capacity-building initiative.
