Integrating geospatial intelligence, artificial intelligence and farming systems science to build climate-smart and resilient agriculture.
Presentation
I am an Agricultural Researcher, Agronomist and PhD candidate in Agricultural Engineering, with more than 14 years of experience in agricultural research, extension, teaching and innovation across tropical farming systems in Mozambique and Brazil. My research focuses on the integration of remote sensing, GIS, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), machine learning and spatial modelling to support Climate-Smart Agriculture, precision agriculture and sustainable land management.
I have worked on agricultural experimentation, crop monitoring, irrigation, agricultural mechanization, land suitability assessment and climate risk analysis. My recent research explores multi-scale artificial intelligence models to improve agricultural productivity, climate resilience and evidence-based decision-making for coffee production systems under climate change.
I am particularly interested in connecting geospatial technologies, systems modelling and field observations to support resilient agricultural systems and sustainable rural development.
