Santiago Dogliotti is Professor of Plant Production Systems at the Plant Sciences Department of the Faculty of Agronomy, Universidad de la República, Uruguay. He is also head of the Food Systems Sustainability Transitions Institute of the same University. He graduated as an agronomist from the Faculty of Agronomy in Uruguay. He obtained his MSc in Crop Science and his PhD in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation from Wageningen University. He has been a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Agronomy for 30 years. He lectures courses on Crop Ecophysiology, Vegetable production, and Analysis and design of agricultural production systems at BSc and MSc levels. He conducted several research projects on the diagnosis of sustainability and the redesign of family farm systems, combining simulation modeling at the field and farm levels with co-innovation processes in pilot farms. What I can bring to this network ?

Dr. Groot specialized in farming systems analysis, model-informed landscape planning and design, and participatory modelling and gaming. He holds a PhD in Agronomy and MScs in grassland science, animal physiology and tropical animal husbandry. He performed post-doc research in national and international projects concerning nutrient cycling, modeling of sustainability indicators and design of mixed farms in multifunctional landscapes dominated by dairy farming systems.Currently, Dr Groot has a coordinating role in integrated landscape and farming systems analysis addressing multi-scale issues of productivity, natural resource management, human nutrition and equitability for CGIAR Science Programs on Multifunctional Landscapes and Sustainable Farming Systems. Project sites are located in Asia (e.g. Nepal, Bangladesh), Africa (e.g., Ghana, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi) and Latin America (e.g., Ecuador, Uruguay and Mexico).
