As an agronomist, agrometeorologist, and crop modeller, I am committed to advancing interdisciplinary research on the impacts of climate change on food security, contributing to sustainable agricultural practices and resilient agri-food systems.

Presentation

I am an agronomist, agrometeorologist, and crop modeller with a focus on the impacts of climate change on food security. Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher, exploring how climate shifts affect agricultural systems and food availability. I am passionate about using interdisciplinary approaches to tackle complex challenges in agriculture and working towards sustainable solutions. I look forward to engaging with the community of practice at this workshop, where we can collaborate, share knowledge, and develop innovative strategies for resilient, sustainable agri-food futures.

What I can bring to this network ?

Given my background as an agronomist, agrometeorologist, and crop modeller, I bring a strong understanding of how climate change impacts agricultural systems and food security. My interdisciplinary approach allows me to bridge the gap between science, policy, and practical solutions. I am eager to contribute my research and insights into sustainable agricultural practices, while also learning from and collaborating with others in this network. Together, we can work towards creating resilient and sustainable agri-food systems, especially in regions facing climate-related challenges.

What I seek in this network ?

In this network, I seek to expand my understanding of global and regional challenges in agriculture, land, and water systems, particularly in the context of climate change. I am eager to collaborate with fellow experts from diverse disciplines to develop innovative, sustainable solutions for food security. Additionally, I hope to engage in capacity-building efforts and exchange knowledge that can be applied in both research and practical settings, especially in Africa and Mediterranean regions where these challenges are most pressing.

A tropical agroecologist passionate about farming systems in the Amazon

Presentation

Dr. Elisabeth Lagneaux is an Associated Senior Researcher at the Wyss Academy for Nature engaged in interdisciplinary research projects on agroecology. Having lived in the Amazon for nearly a decade, her work has focused on farming systems, deforestation, and restoration strategies. Elisabeth is also an Associate Scientist at the International Potato Center and is affiliated with Wageningen University and Research, where she explores the use of Serious Games to support transformation in agroforestry landscapes. In 2025, she was appointed Vice-President of the International Union for Agroforestry (IUAF). She is a fellow and alumni of the Foundation of German Business (SDW).

What I can bring to this network ?

Experience with various qualitative and participatory research methods for systems analysis, and knowledge on farming systems in the Peruvian Amazon.

What I seek in this network ?

To learn from other researchers, share about my experiences, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration and horizontal exchange.

Research engineer committed to agri-food systems transformation

Presentation

I am a research engineer with a background in agronomy and complex systems approaches, working at the science–policy interface, mainly at the European level.
My work focuses on the sustainability of agri-food systems and their transformation over time and across different scales, notably considering ecological, social, and technical dimensions. I have worked on topics such as the climate–food nexus, climate change adaptation in agriculture and coastal areas, livestock system transitions, and reducing the use of chemical pesticides.
Currently, I focus on applying foresight approaches to explore pathways toward more sustainable systems and the trajectories needed to achieve them.
Convinced that meaningful transformation requires thinking and acting within complexity, I am also actively involved in a French association of pioneering farmers in conservation organic agriculture.

What I can bring to this network ?

Together with Lise Paresys, we can connect the community with our colleagues, activities and analyses at INRAE’s Directorate for Expertise, Foresight and Advanced Studies (DEPE) in France.

What I seek in this network ?

Looking to join a collective dynamic and a peer-to-peer space dedicated to systemic approaches. Particular interest in sharing transdisciplinary tools and methods, gaining inspiration from emerging frameworks and new ways of thinking, and exchanging case studies and practical experiences in a spirit of continuous learning.
Aiming to deepen and consolidate key aspects of systems thinking, including how to navigate uncertainty, integrate diverse forms of knowledge, and strengthen engagement and dialogue with society and policymakers.
