Main objectives

  • Strenghtening the collaborations on Systems Science for Agrifood Systems transformation between teams of France, CGIAR and African NARES

  • Based on sharing and strengthening capacities for systemic innovation at the farm,landscape and value-chain crossroads

  • Identify case studies of common interest for countries, Science programs, Institutions or Funding partners which can be further elaborated as projects to seek for funding.

PART 1 - Getting to know: highlithing potential convergences on systems science

  • CapSha Accelerator, with focus on System Science Pilot (Charles Klienerman, CGIAR, CapSha Director),
  • Sustainable Farming Science Program, with focus on AoW 3: Delivering Integrated Solutions to Systemic Farm Binding Constraints (Frank Rasche, CGIAR-IITA, AoW3 lead),
  • CopSyS community of practice on System Science (Jacques Wery, L’Institut Agro ; co-chair of CopSyS),

PART 2 - Challenge, Case Studies and Mode of Action

  • Challenge: Leveraging systemic transformation at farm level (Frank Rasche, CGIAR, AoW3 lead)
  • Mode of Action: Brief presentation of some capacity development programs at doctoral and vocational school levels ()
  • Mapping of country case studies accross diferent programs (presented by Maela Roudaut, L’Institut Agro-CopSyS)
  • Potential links with other programs and initiatives in Africa (science programs and accelerators of the CGIAR)
